Moxie Festival Needs Your Attendance as a Timebanker! Help us out and earn some TD's! Augusta-West Timebanker and Moxie Festival Organizer Justin Liudvinaitis recently posted a need for assistance with an event he is organizing during the Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls. The interested timebankers will be responsible for helping the recipe contest and the duties with this event. Tasks include: 11am-12pm and 12pm- 1pm: Receiving items from participants and running them to a storage refrigerator(located at Mad Mikes Cafe across the street), Also helping with set up of the contest area with tables, tent and chairs. 1pm- 2pm: Assist judges by running food from storage to stage, Also help judges by reminding entry participants to stay calm if they see their entry in the judging (I'm not kidding, It gets emotional for some), A HUGE help would be a cheer leader to be excited for winners and other participants (we can all spread a little happiness with random acts of kindness). And for those having a good time there will be a Chug -n- Challenge where contestants may need assistance during their performance. Again people to set the mood as a cheer leader for a 'fun event' and not a 'free for all' would be appreciated. As well as assisting in the festival this is a great time to promote timebanking. Fliers are a great way to start a conversation about timebanking and earn a timedollar in the process. I for one would love to see the Town of Lisbon and the Moxie Festival recognize timebanking as an organization and community to be associated with. Please come to the Moxie Festival and show your Moxie by showing up at the Main Street Stage and showing your Moxie as a Mid-Maine Timebanker. Since 1983, The Moxie Festival in Lisbon, Maine has been held on the second weekend in July. The 2011 Moxie Festival weekend is July 8-10, 2011. The Festival now includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night fireworks; a Saturday parade, Festival, and 5K race, and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race. Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005. According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 40,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival. The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents. For more 2011 Moxie Festival information visit: www.MoxieFestival.com Thanks, Justin Liudvinaitis Augusta West
