GROW Weekend Workshops

Update:

13th Annual GROW Weekend
GrassRoots Organizing Workshops

Sept. 30th - Oct. 2nd
Pine Tree Camp, Rome, ME (Near Belgrade Lakes)

Because of the increasing volatility of the world around us these days, we decided to do it a little differently this year! To try and offer a constructive response to the consistent injustices we continue to see, the theme for this year's GROW will be "Building a Just Community." And with that theme in mind many of our workshops this year will have a particular focus not just on how to organize effectively with justice as a goal, but how to incorporate justice into the work itself. Workshops include but may not be limited to: grassroots organizing for social change, theater of the oppressed, nonviolent communication, intergenerational organizing, unlearning gender essentialism (the myth of the binary), using the circle process, the inner work of the organizer, and more!

The gathering this year will be held again at the beautiful Pine Tree Camp in Rome, which has gorgeous waterfront views, trails for exploring nature, and a kickass tree house for the child in all of us! This camp is also fully accessible and barrier free for people with physical or developmental disabilities.

There will also be free child care during workshop slots.

The fee for GROW is sliding scale, $10-$80 to cover the entire weekend. No one will be turned away for lack of ability to pay, but if you have the ability to pay more we strongly encourage that as you will be helping folks who struggle to pay and find the fee to be a barrier to attendance.

I hope you'll be able to attend this wonderful gathering. To register online please visit: www.tinyurl.com/GROW16
